Our client is a vibrant and fun VPN service, recently acquired by a major player in global security software. They are looking for a UX/Product designer to help them shape the future of their mobile app and website.
This is a remote, 12-month contract role within Canada.
The Role
As a Product/UX Designer, you'll own the end-to-end design and optimization of the user experience across mobile (iOS and Android) and web platforms. You'll play a key role in developing and maintaining our UX guidelines and design systems, ensuring a consistent and delightful experience for our users. This is a 12-month contract role with the potential for extension or conversion to a permanent position.
Responsibilities
- App & Web Design: Lead the design of intuitive and engaging user interfaces for our mobile apps (iOS and Android) and website.
- UX Optimization: Conduct research, competitive analysis, and usability testing to identify areas for improvement and drive user engagement.
- Design Systems: Develop and maintain UX guidelines and design systems to ensure consistency across all platforms.
- Data-Driven Design: Utilize data and user feedback to inform design decisions and measure the impact of your work.
- Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, engineers, and marketers to ensure seamless execution of designs and alignment with business goals.
- Platform Ownership: Take full ownership of the Android, iOS, and web platforms, ensuring a cohesive and delightful user experience across all touchpoints.
Skills We Require
- 3+ Years of Experience: Proven experience in designing user-centered interfaces for mobile and web applications.
- Mobile & Web Expertise: Strong understanding of mobile design principles and experience designing for both iOS and Android platforms.
- Design Systems & Guidelines: Experience in developing and maintaining UX guidelines and design systems.
- User Research & Testing: Familiarity with conducting user research, usability testing, and A/B testing to gather insights and validate design decisions.
- Collaboration & Communication: Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams. Â
- Marketing Acumen: Understanding of marketing principles and the ability to collaborate with marketing teams to drive user acquisition and engagement.
- Subscription Business Experience: Familiarity with subscription-based business models and user engagement strategies. (Nice to have)
- Brand Alignment: Appreciation for the fun and unique brand and the ability to create designs that resonate with our audience.
Bonus Points
- Experience designing paywalls and optimizing conversion rates.
- Experience with illustration and animation, particularly character animation.
- Familiarity with UX elements and design frameworks within the mobile landscape.
