Responsibilities   
 
Shamrock Trading Corporation is looking for an UX Designer to join the Technology team. This role must be able to perform the following tasks, among others: 
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot application issues to determine root cause of problems or malfunctions.  
  • Resolve user issues by reviewing application logs, recreating user errors and testing changes.  
  • Work with our development and systems group to resolve more advanced issues when necessary   
  • Monitor project progress by tracking activity, resolving problems, publishing progress reports, and recommending actions   
  • Define project requirements by identifying project timelines, phases and elements, determining scope, and establishing project expenses   
  • Differentiate user requests from the underlying true needs and distinguish solution ideas from requirements   
  • Work with business owners to convert high-level business and user requirements into functional requirements and prioritize requirements.   
  • Manage changes to baseline requirements through effective application of change control processes and tools and manage system enhancement requests   
  • Implement appropriate mitigation strategies that may involve compromises with respect to scope and schedule   
  • Prepares technical reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends   
  • Provide assistance to sales and customer-facing staff through training, joint sales calls/visits to key accounts   
  • Create workaround procedures when standard procedures have failed and ensures issues are resolved in a timely fashion   
Qualifications  
  • Bachelor's degree in Graphics Design or equivalent work experience 
  • Minimum of 3 years of UX experience in business application design, development, installation and modification in an IT 
  • Experience with design, development, and implementation of new computing architectures  
  • Strong skills in overall user interface design of web and mobile systems 
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to act as technical lead on complex projects 
  • Strong ability to accurately estimate project development activities 
  • Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with customers and other technical staff 
  • A solid grasp of user-centered design and testing methodologies, subsystem and usability and accessibility concerns 
  • Extensive experience in using UX design best practices to design solutions, and a deep understanding of mobile-first and responsive design 
  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate design processes, ideas and solutions to teams and clients 
  • A clear understanding of the importance of user-centered design 
  • Be excited about collaborating and communicating closely with teams and other stakeholders via a distributed model to regularly deliver design solutions for approval.
